Together with our friend association Lund's Academic Rugby Club, we organize many activities during the semester, including a try rugby event. We meet on the field and try out the basics of rugby, tackling (with protection of course!) is usually popular - perfect if you need to get some anger out after a tough week!
PUB
An afterride, afterwork, or afterschool is never wrong! We meet at one of Lund's many nation pubs and hang out. Here you have the opportunity to meet both new and old members - at the beginning of the semester we have a pub specifically aimed at new members, perfect if you don't know anyone in LARS yet! In addition to LARS pubs, we also have very popular pub crawls with the friend association LARC!
An always popular element of everyday life is our Friday fika after the LARS riding lesson. Whether you are an old member, new to LARS or just curious about LARS, everyone gathers here to enjoy a sweet. Never does the coffee sit as well as after a sweaty riding lesson. Or have you just come from the lecture and have low blood sugar? The Friday fika is here for you! If you have not had the opportunity to ride in the riding group that week, it is also a perfect opportunity to watch the lesson before. Keep an eye on our Facebook events when the next fika is!
At the beginning of the semester, we arrange a tour of Lund's Civila Ryttarförening, where we have our lessons. There you have the opportunity to get a guided tour around the facility, perfect if you want to be prepared for your first riding lesson. Or if you're just curious about who we are! The tours are usually held on Fridays in connection with the LARS riding lesson, so you have the opportunity to take a look at how it works as well. Afterwards, of course, there is fika and a lovely hang-out!
In 2025, we were able to offer two trial rides for the first time, for both experienced riders and complete beginners. Together we went out to Söderåsen's Turridning to ride in the fantastic national park Söderåsen. All participants were divided into groups based on experience and then it was off into the forest. This was followed by a pentathlon and barbeque. A very popular event we hope to be able to offer in the coming semesters as well!
We have a collaboration with LCR that involves us helping out at their competitions, and in exchange we get a discount on our riding lessons! Therefore, we strongly encourage you to help out at least once during the semester if you ride in the riding group, so that we can continue with the collaboration. Every competition weekend there is therefore a bunch of LARSers on site - you can sit in the judges' tower, stand on the track, write protocols, take care of the cafeteria, the warm-up and much more! Of course, you get food and coffee during the day. No previous experience is required!
